Your Frequent Questions About Therapy & Counselling

Considering psychotherapy or counselling often comes with questions about the process, practicalities, and the therapist themselves. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. If you need more information, feel free to contact me via phone, email, or the contact form, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Where do therapy sessions take place?

I offer only online therapy sessions. My office is in London, Chelsea and hope to welcome you there soon. I provide online therapy for clients across the UK, using a secure platfrom compliant with regulations.

How long is a session?

A standard therapy session lasts 50 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged if necessary.

What times are available for therapy sessions?

I offer daytime and evening sessions to accommodate different schedules. Availability may vary, so please contact me to discuss a suitable time.

How often should I attend therapy?

Most clients attend weekly sessions, but frequency can be adjusted based on individual needs and finances. Forthnight sessions are also very common.

How much does a therapy session cost?

Individual online session are £55. Payments via insurances are accepted. Please visit the Home page for more details or contact me.

How do I pay?

I accept bank transfers and online payments. Payments should be made on the day of the session or 48 hours after receiving the invoice. For the first session, payments are often made before.

Is there a cancellation fee?

Yes, I require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.

Have you been in therapy yourself?

Yes, like many professionals in this field, I have experienced therapy myself. This helps me bring greater empathy and understanding to my work with clients. I'm also in supervision to maintain my skills.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

The best way to know is by having an initial session. Therapy is a personal process, and I encourage clients to choose a therapist they feel comfortable with.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is completely confidential, with a few exceptions related to legal and ethical safeguarding responsibilities (e.g., risk of harm).

Will we only talk about the past?

Not necessarily. While past experiences shape who we are, therapy focuses on understanding current struggles, developing self-awareness, and creating change.

Will you give me advice?

Therapy is not about giving direct advice but about helping you explore your experiences, thoughts, and feelings to make your own informed choices.

How will I know if therapy is working?

Signs that therapy is effective include:

  • Greater self-awareness and emotional resilience

  • Improved relationships and coping strategies

  • Feeling more in control of your thoughts and emotions

Do I need to prepare for sessions?

There is no specific preparation needed—just come with an open mind and a willingness to explore your thoughts and feelings.

How long will therapy last?

The duration varies for each client. Some people find short-term therapy (8-12 sessions) beneficial, while others prefer longer-term exploration.

How does therapy end?

Ending therapy is a collaborative process. We will discuss when and how to conclude sessions in a way that feels right and complete for you.

What issues can therapy help with?

I'm trained to support a vast majority of issues and life struggle.

I specialise in supporting clients with:

  • Relationship Issues (conflicts, emotional disconnection)

  • Intimacy & Sex Therapy (desire issues, communication, performance anxiety)

  • Trauma & Abuse Recovery (PTSD, emotional trauma, toxic relationships)

  • Infidelity & Trust Repair (healing from affairs, rebuilding trust)

  • Anxiety & Stress (generalized anxiety, overthinking, panic attacks)

  • Self-Esteem & Identity (confidence, self-worth, personal growth)

Do you use CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy)?

Yes. As an integrative therapist, I combine Existential Therapy, Psychoanalysis, and CBT. If CBT is suitable for your concerns, we can incorporate structured techniques to help with specific challenges like anxiety and negative thinking.
